The Definitions:
Hope: to believe, desire, or trust; to feel that something desired may happen
Faith: confidence or trust in a person or thing; belief that is not based on proof
Hope is a funny thing. We have it when we should’ve given it up a long time ago and sometimes when something’s just around the corner, we give it up way too soon like a down comforter that’s lost some of its fluff.
Faith is something we should keep with us when the going gets tough, much like a security blanket, but all too often that very confidence we should have in another we don’t have in ourselves and so we are left a bit cold.
And then there’s chocolate. Chocolate is like the warmest of fuzzy blankets that makes you tingly from the inside out. So I say, when hope and faith abandon you, turn to chocolate!
