Recently I was faced w/the very real possibility that I might have to pack up and move and it made me very wistful. I have never lived in one place as long as I have lived in my humble abode, a place I provided for myself. I raised my daughter here since she was 10 and the walls are filled w/her love and laughter. I won’t list all that is barely working but instead will say that I love looking out my window at my yard, I love looking around my walls at the pictures of my daughter both of her face and ones she’s drawn. I may not have much and there may be things that are in need of tending but as a friend pointed out, “it works for you, you’ve raised a stellar daughter who is off at university now, you’re doing fine!” So I may have to pull out a fold up chair if you come over but I promise to make you laugh and I think you’ll feel warm and cozy by the time you leave. Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home and for now – I am very happy it’s still mine.
